Some security measures while you are transacting using IDBI Net Banking Account
At first, remember one thing- losing any sensitive data related to your net banking account may push you into deep troubles. Using net banking facility of IDBI is very easy and useful too but all users are advised to take measures with care so that you can’t be a victim of fraud activities of spammers and hackers. But how will yu protect your account?
Go through the below-mentioned point and have a clear idea about these-
Don’t share username and password: It’s the first and foremost way to block the chances of getting into the troubles. Don’t tell anyone even if he or she asks for anything related to your account or debit or credit card.
# sometimes some people call and may tell you that they are calling from the bank and if you don’t provide the details they are asking your card or account may be blocked. Be alerted of these kinds of calls. Don’t entertain anyone over phone calls.
Don’t access your account from any unknown PC: Another protective way is not to access the net banking account from any cyber café or any device that is not yours.
Don’t answer any Email asking your bank details: We are often lured by some mail where you are declared as the winner of some lucky draw. For transfer purposes, they want your bank account details. Don’t get lured by this. These are all scams.
Don’t write your username and pass on anything: The best way to protect the pass and username is to write these in some manners so that no one but only you can understand that. Avoid writing these on something that is open to the public.
Change passwords at a regular interval: Always change your IDBI net banking password in the regular interval. The recommended time gap is 3 months.
**Note: If you have lost your debit card and don’t know how to block that so that you can stop the misuses of that card then have a look on How to block IDBI Cards (Debit, Credit, ATM) easily.
What to do if Money Sent to Wrong Account?
If you have sent money to a wrong person through net banking of IDBI Bank then what do you do? We generally get frustrated right after the moment we realize that we have sent an amount to a wrong account number.
There can be two cases- The first one- you have sent money to another beneficiary instead of the actual beneficiary. The second one- you have transferred money to an unknown beneficiary!
For the first case, you have an easy option because you may know the person personally. Directly request them sending the amount back.
# A Hack: If you have sent the money by NEFT, then call the branch manager immediately because processing a NEFT request takes at least an hour. The Bank manager can decline the process.
But for an IMPS transfer, it’s very tough to guess whether the person will refund the amount or not because if the person doesn’t acknowledge that the amount is credited to his/ her account by mistake then you may move to court for that. It will take time and money both!
